Director, Research and policy
The
Reform Institute seeks an experienced and motivated individual
to manage its policy programs and research staff and further
develop and implement strategic goals for its policy
portfolios
Qualifications:
-
Masters Degree or above in public policy or related field
-
5+ years policy experience in a variety of fields, with knowledge of fields studied by Institute preferred
-
Experience managing multiple staff members and/or consultants
-
Research and writing experience in academic or think tank environment highly preferred
-
Ability to handle multiple independent research projects while simultaneously managing others
-
Hill experience a plus, but not necessary
-
Proven track record of goal oriented achievement
-
Excellent writing and communication skills
-
Ability to think strategically about long term planning while keeping short term needs in mind
Responsibilities:
-
Write white papers/policy reports to be published by Institute
-
Provide research and policy analysis for internal and external publication
-
Manage day to day activities of research staff and policy fellows
-
Take the lead on the recruitment of policy fellows and academic advisors for the Institute
-
Work with Institute management and board of directors on long term planning for policy programs; Craft a multi-year strategic plan for development and growth of policy portfolio

Help to further develop and oversee federal and state based outreach of policy programs

Assist with dissemination and outreach of policy publications
